Pierre Michel Jean is a freelance photojournalist for 5 years, he lives and works in Port-au-Prince where he collaborates with different media and agencies such as harpers, Le Monde, Le Temps, Sept.info, La Vie, Le Nouvelliste, AFP, Fotopaklè, etc. Pierre Michel is sensitive to themes related to Haitian immigration in the Dominican Republic and Brazil, urbanism and voodoo. Pierre Michel studied Social Communication and Legal Sciences at the State University of Haiti (UEH). At CEPEC and Haiti Reporters he studied photography and multimedia production. After winning the "Best Flower Carnival Photo Competition" in 2012, he was selected to participate in the Jeux de la Francophonie in Nice (France) in 2013. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Haiti as well as in foreigner (New York, Nice, Guyana, Comoros, etc.). "Healers of the Shadow" is the name of a documentary film that he directed in 2015 and which was screened at the Festival Vues d'Afriques in Montreal in 2016.
